The KBBA General monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of the month.

The meetings begin at 6:30 pm with a meet and greet and usually run to 8:00 pm

Speaker in Person: Tim Sheehan

Tim Sheehan is from Harrodsburg KY and is retired from a career in Forestry. He has been a beekeeper for over 15 years and manages over 120 hives producing 4,000 - 6,000 lbs. of honey and selling 30 nucs each year. Tim is an active board member for the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association and is a key organizer of the KY State Fair honey booth.

Speaker in Person: Ron Zembrodt

Ron started beekeeping in 2013. Member of NKY Beekeeper Association, KY Queen Bee Breeders Association and Southeast Indiana Beekeepers Association. Currently managing 35 hives. He caught 43 swarms in 2023 and stopped early into the season because he ran out of resources to put them.

Topic: swarm box placement and resources needed to help you catch your own swarms. Plus we will discuss what bees do in preparation to swarm.
